We offer a unique program on the use of materials informatics that links experimental and computational perspectives of materials science and engineering. The Department for Materials, Design and Innovation (MDI) has two research themes: The Methodology Science research cluster focuses on advancing and/or developing new techniques in experimental and computational materials science. The new Department of Materials Design and Innovation (MDI) in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences has just completed its first full academic year of operation and it's marking that milestone with the Erich Bloch Symposium in Materials Design and Innovation.
